Social fabric of society will get disturbed: HC refuses protection to Haryana live-in couple

Rejecting the plea of the young couple, the Punjab & Haryana HC observed that if protection, as claimed, is granted, the entire social fabric of the society would get disturbed. The couple alleged that they are being threatened by the girl’s family.

Citing a threat to the social fabric of society, the Punjab and Haryana High Court on Thursday refused protection to a Jind live-in couple allegedly being threatened by the girl’s family since their elopement. Rejecting a plea for protection filed by the couple, the Punjab and Haryana HC said, “if such protection as claimed is granted, the entire social fabric of the society would get disturbed.”
