
Six zones with 30 Circles in reorganised GHMC

GHMC restructured into six zones and 30 circles, covering 689 square kilometers, effective February 11, 2026.
The reorganised Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), following its split into three bodies, will comprise six zones, 30 Circles, and 150 Wards. It will cover approximately 689 square kilometres.
Telangana Government issued orders on Wednesday (February 11, 2026), restructuring GHMC it into Malkajgiri Municipal Corporation, Cyberabad Municipal Corporation and reorganised GHMC.
The IAS officer of 2012 batch, R.V. Karnan, will continue to serve in the post of GHMC Commissioner. The six zones under the reorganised GHMC are Secunderabad, Khairatabad, Shamshabad, Rajendranagar, Charminar and Golconda Zones.
