'Silent walking' trend: Psychiatrist shares stress-relieving benefits of strolling in silence

The TikTok community has turned walking without music, podcasts or other artificial noise into a "stress-relieving" trend. Psychiatrist Dr. Raafat W. Girgis discusses the benefits of "silent walking."
She described the experience as "mayhem" for the first two minutes, when the "mind is racing" and anxiety ensues. "Learning how to block out the noise of the world and life in general is the primary goal of silent walking." Angelica Stabile is a lifestyle writer for Fox News Digital.
