QNACairoSpeaker of the Shura Council HE Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim, renewed the State of Qatar’s call to address the root causes of problems that lead to wars, conflicts, terrorism, and extremism in the Arab region and around the world. He stressed Qatar’s belief in the Arab nations’ unity, which is built on love and good for all, as well as the virtues and brotherhood that Islam promotes. This was stated in a speech delivered on Thursday by Speaker of the Shura Council at the opening session of the 32nd Arab Inter-Parliamentary Union Conference, which was held in Cairo under the theme ‘Arab Solidarity’.His Excellency referred to the State of Qatar’s efforts to reform and mediate between the parties and disputants, whether between states or between components of a single state. He also mentioned Qatari initiatives aimed at educating young men and women and providing youth employment programs in conflict zones. He drew attention to the tensions and insecurity that many Arab countries are experiencing, prompting the call for this conference to rekindle Arab solidarity. He said that the Arab world unity and solidarity have been subjected to violent tremors and differences have occurred between its countries and governments over their positions on the Palestinian issue and on ways to achieve peace with the usurping entity, adding that for seven decades, the Arab countries have been victims of the machinations of the common enemy, its sponsors, and protectors.Speaker of the Shura referred to the Israeli practices against the Palestinians, pointing out that the issue of the occupied Arab lands should be a top priority. He called for ensuring the support of the Palestinian people to recover their full right on their land in accordance with international resolutions, laws, charters, and 2002 Arab peace agreements.Speaker of the Shura Council stressed that achieving a just peace will achieve stability for all, contribute to the launch of the production wheel and achieve a renaissance. He underlined the importance that heritage, religion, and a common destiny remain a bond that unites and strengthens the Arab solidarity, adding that disagreement is an eternal tradition between human beings yet they can overcome these disagreements by adhering to the bonds of unity, pride, and dignity. Also, His Excellency pointed to the plots of the enemies of the Arab and Islamic nations, and the wars and nihilistic conflicts that the region has witnessed and is still witnessing. He added that the sanctities of Muslims have been violated as a result of the temptations planted by enemies, particularly the occupying entity, which has spread all evil in Arab countries. He emphasized the importance of solidarity, cooperation, and coordination of efforts to support the brothers on the front lines, recalling the duty owed to them and warning that the long wait for victory and relief could lead to despair. He warned of the need to pay attention to the people, provide them with a decent life, arrange the internal conditions, fight corruption and injustice, achieve justice and equality, to ensure security and stability, and beware of the enemies of the Arab region and their plans to create strife between countries.Speaker of the Shura Council thanked and appreciated the presidency and secretariat of the Union for the good organization of the conference, wishing it success to achieve the results that serve all countries and enhance solidarity and unity. On the sidelines of the conference, Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanim met with HE Speaker of the Algerian People’s National Assembly Ibrahim Boughali.During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral cooperation relations in the parliamentary field and ways to enhance them.
