Seth Meyers Brilliantly Trounces Trump’s ‘Very Normal’ Distractions Over Jeffrey Epstein

The “Late Night” host went on a tear over the president’s reported ties to the late sex offender.
Seth Meyers on Wednesday skewered President Donald Trump for attempting to distract the public from his ties to Jeffrey Epstein with a litany of diversions before Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) shut down the House to block a bipartisan effort to get some answers.
“A bipartisan group of lawmakers pushed for a vote to release the Epstein files, so Donald Trump and GOP leaders responded in a very normal way,” joked Meyers. “They shut down Congress and said [former President] Barack Obama should be arrested.”
Trump alleged Tuesday that Obama committed “treason” during the 2016 election, but only pushed the claim after his ties to Epstein, a sex offender who died in jail while awaiting trial on federal sex trafficking charges, reached a fever pitch.
The Wall Street Journal reported Friday that Trump wrote Epstein a lewd birthday message in 2003, and reported Wednesday that Attorney General Pam Bondi informed Trump in May that his name features prominently in a “truckload” of documents related to Epstein.
Meyers mocked the moment by imitating Trump and his advisers.
