The senator made the provocative remark to host Jen Psaki on MS NOW’s “The Briefing” as the administration fumbled through shifting explanations for attacking Iran and confrontational replies to concerns about the American deaths.
Psaki noted how “flippantly” and “inconsistently” the administration has approached the conflict, which threatens to mire the United States in a prolonged war without Congressional approval.
Kelly harkened back to Operation Desert Storm in which he flew dozens of missions. His commanding officer, he said, properly expressed the risk involved and emphasized readiness.
“You could just feel in his core that he understood how significant of an issue this was that some of us might die,” Kelly said.
