Trump announced the strike on Kharg Island just hours after the interview aired.
President Donald Trump flipped out during a Fox News interview on Friday after host Brian Kilmeade asked him about the possibility of attacking Iran’s Kharg Island — which he then did hours after the interview aired.
During the interview, which was filmed on Thursday and aired on Friday, Trump was asked about comments he made in the 1980s to a British newspaper regarding Kharg Island, and what he would do as president if Iran attacked U.S. assets.
“Now, here in 2026, you are president, are you thinking about taking Kharg Island, where 90% of the Iranian oil goes through,’ Kilmeade said. “Do you remember that interview and that school of thought?”
In response, Trump did not hold back.
“Brian, I can’t answer a question like that, and you shouldn’t be even asking it,” Trump said. “It’s one of so many different things; It’s not high on the list, but it’s one of so many different things, and I can change my mind in seconds. But you know, for you to ask a question, who would answer a question like that?”
