The Fox News host gave his immigration crackdown advice on ICE.
Sean Hannity said Monday that President Donald Trump’s immigration crackdown could do without raiding businesses like Home Depot. (Check out the clip below.)
As outrage spread over the government killing of two people protesting the mass deployment of federal agents to trap migrants in Minneapolis, Hannity attacked Democrats’ approach to border security before criticizing the Immigration and Customs Enforcement roundups at some job sites.
“Now, is ICE perfect? They’re not,” Hannity said on his radio show. “Can they do a better job? They can. ... Do I think that going into Home Depots and arresting people there is a good idea? I don’t.”
“If you’re working at a place, you’re not the immediate problem,” the Fox News host continued. “Eventually, we’ll have to deal with those people that didn’t respect our laws, borders and sovereignty.”
Targeting big-box stores like Home Depot, which was co-founded by the late Trump ally Bernie Marcus, has been a Homeland Security tactic for months. Immigrant laborers are known to congregate there to perhaps get hired by contractors or homeowners shopping there. Earlier this year, White House adviser Stephen Miller, one of the anti-immigrant architects of the deportation plan, encouraged ICE to focus on Home Depots and 7-Elevens.
