Shiv Sena MP Sanjay Raut on Tuesday demanded the arrest of former BJP MP Kirit Somaiya and his son for their alleged links to the multi-crore Punjab and Maharashtra Co-operative (PMC) Bank fraud case.
Raut alleged that Neil Somaiya, the BJP leader’s son, is a business partner of Rakesh Wadhwan, an accused in the PMC bank fraud.
“Kirit Somaiya is a fraud. They have embezzled people’s money by committing bank scams. His son is working as a director in the company of the mastermind of the PMC scam. They have set up projects worth thousands of crores like Nikon Phase One and Two. This is all money in PMC Bank,” he said.
The Shiv Sena spokesperson said he will submit relevant documents in this connection to Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray and appeal to him to initiate appropriate action.
Reacting to Raut’s allegations, Kirit Somaiya denied any wrongdoing and remarked that the Shiv Sena has tried to defame his family in the past too.
