Safflower to be procured at ₹6,540 per quintal under MSP scheme

Kalaburagi farmers can register for safflower procurement at ₹6,540 per quintal under the MSP scheme until June 22.
Deputy Commissioner B. Fouzia Tarannum has urged farmers in Kalaburagi district to avail themselves of the Minimum Support Price (MSP) scheme for the sale of FAQ-quality safflower (kusube) and complete registration within the stipulated period.
In a statement, she said that the State government issued an order on April 4 to procure safflower under the MSP scheme.
Farmers have been advised to visit their nearest Primary Agricultural Credit Cooperative Society (PACS) or TAPCMS procurement centres and register their produce for sale.
The registration process will continue till June 22, while procurement will go on till July 2.
Both registration and procurement will be taken up simultaneously. Payments for the procured produce will be made directly to farmers through the DBT portal.
The Karnataka Co-operative Oilseeds Growers Federation Limited has been appointed as the nodal procurement agency for the State. In Kalaburagi district, safflower will be procured through 42 PACS and TAPCMS centres.
