J&K Police dismantle a Lashkar-e-Taiba module, arresting five, including a 16-year fugitive, after extensive investigations across states.
An investigation by the Jammu and Kashmir Police into the suspected escape of a Pakistani terrorist from Rajasthan has led to the busting of an inter-State terror module of the Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), sources said on Tuesday (April 7, 2026), adding five persons—two Pakistani nationals and three residents of Kashmir—have been arrested in multiple raids.
The sources said a wanted terrorist from Pakistan, earlier operating in Kashmir, might have managed to flee India with the help of local conduits in Rajasthan. Multiple arrests have been made to find out how the terrorist obtained a passport. Meanwhile, the support network for the terrorists in Kashmir has also been identified.
At least three Srinagar residents have been arrested for allegedly providing logistical support to Pakistani terrorists on their arrival in Kashmir, the sources said.
The two Pakistani nationals arrested during raids in Kashmir, Haryana, Punjab and Rajasthan are suspected to have been in touch with local accomplices. Around 19 locations across at least four States were searched as part of the operation to track the LeT module.
Weapons and ammunition were recovered during the raids, the official sources said.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police have not issued any statement over the arrests.

The West Asia crisis has thrown the manufacturing sector into disarray, causing significant operational bottlenecks that show no signs of easing. This situation is affecting port operations, shipping activities, container movement, and energy supply — particularly Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). These disruptions are driving costs higher, say industry players, expressing fears about a much bleaker future if conditions do not improve.
