Former India batsman Virender Sehwag does not seem pleased with the fitness test being given priority over the players’ skill during selection for the Indian cricket team.
In the last couple of years, passing the yo-yo test has become a mandatory criterion for selection into the Indian team and former India batsman Virender Sehwag does not seem pleased with the fitness test being given priority over the players’ skill level. He further said that if the yo-yo test was there during his time, then players such as Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and VVS Laxman would not have played for India. “I want to tell you one thing, here we are talking about yo-yo test, Hardik Pandya doesn’t have issues with running, he has issues with workload because of his bowling. However, Ashwin and (Varun) Chakravarthy, on the other hand, haven’t cleared the yo-yo test, that’s why they aren’t here.More Related News
