Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara should be backed as long as the pair are playing and not getting dismissed in a poor manner considering how they played in the second innings of the second Test against South Africa, batting great Sunil Gavaskar has said. Rahane and Pujara scored quick half centuries in a 111-run stand that was crucial to India crossing the 200-run mark in the second innings in the second Test.
Their stand was crucial in India setting a target of 240 runs but they ended up losing the match by seven wickets with Proteas captain Dean Elgar anchoring a remarkable chase.
