Rural school buses cancelled as fog warning issued Wednesday across region

Environment Canada issued a fog advisory for the London area and southwestern Ontario Wednesday morning as commuters travelled treacherous roads to their early destinations.
A number of rural school buses in the London area, including in Middlesex, Elgin and Oxford counties, were cancelled with police warning that the fog blanketing the region would require extra travel time.
Ontario Provincial Police were also issuing warnings to drivers, with some crashes reported in counties west of London.
A full list of bus cancellations can be found on mybigyellowbus.ca, which monitors school bus cancellations for the Thames Valley District School Board and London District Catholic School Board.
Fog patches were expected to clear by midday Wednesday, Environment Canada said.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
