RR vs CSK: Obed McCoy on his better bowling performance against Chennai Super Kings - Lasith Malinga helped me in the nets

Rajasthan Royals will take on Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1. The Royals have pushed Lucknow Super Giants to Eliminator, where they will either meet Delhi Capitals or Royal Challengers Bangalore.

West Indies pacer Obed McCoy credited Sri Lankan great Lasith Malinga for his "better bowling performance" in the IPL match between Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings at the Brabourne Stadium on Friday.McCoy took two wickets, including Moeen Ali (93 off 57), and conceded just 20 runs in his four-over quota.

Talking about his bowling, McCoy in the post-match presentation said, "It was a better bowling performance. My line and length were better, bowled less wides and had more control over everything. Malinga has helped me in the nets, he said to be consistent and don't overthink, use your variations and be smart.

"The pitch was gripping, the new ball was coming on so it was easier for the batsmen, the lengths were important with the older ball and the variations as well. I have had (the cutter) as long as I had back of the hand, I bowled two back of the hand slower balls and it slipped because of the sweat, so I just bowled more cutters. Everyone is happy, we have worked hard and we will go in and win the next game."

Moeen anchored the innings for Chennai Super Kings to drag his side to 150/6. In reply, Yashasvi Jaiswal (59 off 44) and Ravichandran Ashwin (40* off 23) helped Rajasthan Royals beat the Super Kings by five wickets and two balls to spare.

Rajasthan Royals will take on Gujarat Titans in Qualifier 1 on May 24 at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.

With the win, Rajasthan Royals pushed Lucknow Super Giants to third position. The Super Giants now await the result of the match between Delhi Capitals and Mumbai Indians to know whether they will face Delhi or Royal Challengers Bangalore in the Eliminator, which will be played on May 25 in Kolkata.
