The meeting between senior RJD leader Shyam Rajak and Chirag Paswan has fuelled speculations that the formation of another ‘mahagathbandhan’ in Bihar may be in the works.
A meeting between Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader Shyam Rajak and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan at his residence in Delhi on Saturday has set the rumour mills churning in Bihar’s political circles. It is worth noting that Shyam Rajak met the embattled former president of the Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) only a couple of days after he paid a visit to his party supremo, Lalu Prasad Yadav. This has fuelled speculations that Rajak met Chirag carrying some message from Lalu Prasad Yadav and Tejaswi Yadav -- perhaps a message of solidarity or the offer of joining forces to form another ‘mahagathbandhan’.Another fact worth bearing in mind is that post the split in the LJP, Shyam Rajak is the first RJD leader to meet Chirag Paswan. Sources said that Rajak has invited Chirag to come together and strengthen the opposition in Bihar.
