Rishabh Pant is playing smart and intelligent cricket, he is not trying to slog every ball: Sunil Gavaskar

England tour of India 2021: Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar has said that he is very impressed with Rishabh Pant’s batting and lauded the batsman for playing smart and intelligent cricket.

In the ongoing decider third ODI between India and England, it was Rishabh Pant and Hardik Pandya who gave the edge to India. At that point, a massive total of over 350 was expected in the 1st innings. However, the hosts were able to post 329 runs on the board, after the duo departed, in the third ODI in Pune. The Pant-Pandya pair added a 99-run stand in just 70 balls and received a lot of praise from experts. Former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar gave a special appreciation for the wicket-keeper batsman top-scored for India with a 62-ball 78. Gavaskar has said that he is extremely impressed with Rishabh Pant’s recent batting form. The former Indian cricketer has lauded the 23-year-old for his consistency and ‘smart cricket’.
