Rishabh Pant is more confident now, his approach not reckless: Mike Hesson

World Test Championship final: Former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said he expects Rishabh Pant to bat at No. 6 in the big-ticket match in Southampton and continue the fearless approach that has brought him success in the recent past.

Former New Zealand coach Mike Hesson said Rishabh Pant's new-found confidence is helping him stick to his approach and play the way he wants to at the highest level. Hesson added Pant will bat at No. 6 in the World Test Championship final, in which he is expected to make a mark. Rishabh Pant had lost his place in the limited-overs side and was not picked for the series-opening Test in Australia earlier this year. The young wicketkeeper-batsman though got an opportunity to feature in the XI after India made changes to the side following their defeat in the first Test wherein they were bowled out for 36. Pant made a winning impact on the Australia tour with two knocks that helped change his fortunes. After a valiant 97 in the Sydney Test that India managed to draw, he hit a match-winning 89 not out in India's historic win at the Gabba earlier this year.
