Returning to politics, will work for BJP in J&K, says LG's ex-advisor Farooq Khan | Exclusive

Farooq Khan, who resigned as advisor to J&K Lt. Governor, Manoj Sinha, on Sunday said that he was returning to politics and will be taking an organizational role in the BJP in the union territory ahead of the assembly polls.

In an exclusive interview with India Today, Jammu and Kashmir Lt Governor (LG) Manoj Sinha's former advisor Farooq Khan said that he will be returning to politics and will take an organizational role in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).India Today spoke to the former advisor when he landed in Jammu following his meeting with the BJP National President JP Nadda and General Secretary (Org) BL Santosh in New Delhi.

Farooq Khan had given his resignation on Sunday. He is all set to get a major role in the J&K BJP ahead of the assembly polls which are slated to be conducted in the Union Territory later this year.A retired IPS officer, Farooq Khan spearheaded counter-terrorism ops in Jammu and Kashmir in the 1990s which helped curb terror-related incidents in the Valley.Previously, Khan had also served as a national secretary of the BJP and held various posts in the party's minority cell.
