Retired CID ASP remanded to 14-day custody for custodial torture case involving Deputy Speaker in Guntur district jail.
The police produced retired CID Additional Superintendent of Police R. Vijay Paul in a court in Guntur, which remanded him to 14-days judicial custody on Wednesday. He was sent to Guntur district jail.
The Prakasam district police on Tuesday arrested Mr. Vijay Paul, who was facing charges in a custodial torture case. He was handed over to Guntur police.
It was alleged that the AP-CID Police, led by then Additional SP Vijay Paul, used third degree on then Narsapuram Parliament Member and the present Deputy Speaker of the Legislative Assembly Kanumuru Raghu Ramakrishna Raju, at the Mangalagiri CID Office.
