Retired Allahabad HC judge to probe Lakhimpur Kheri incident, to submit report in 2 months

Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, a retired judge of the Allahabad High Court, has been appointed to investigate the Lakhimpur Kheri incident. He has been asked to submit a report on the matter in two months.
The Uttar Pradesh government has constituted a one-member commission to probe the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which eight people were killed. Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, a retired judge of the Allahabad High Court, will investigate the matter and submit the report in two months.
The Uttar Pradesh Home Department released a statement on Wednesday announcing the setting up of a commission to probe the violence that unleashed in Uttar Pradesh's Lakhimpur Kheri on October 3. Eight people including four farmers, a journalist, two BJP workers and a driver were among those who died in the violence.
