Redmi has launched two new power-packed phones in China under the new Redmi Turbo 5 series. There are two models: Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max. Both phones boast of powerful specs including big batteries and fast MediaTek chips. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max stands out with its massive 9,000mAh battery. It is also the first to come with the brand-new Dimensity 9500s chip.
The Redmi Turbo 5 and Redmi Turbo 5 Max are launching first in China though if history is anything to go by, they may launch in globally, India included, under a different name and perhaps Poco branding. The Redmi Turbo 5 Max has a 6.83-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and up to 3500 nits of peak brightness. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chip paired with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage. Software is Xiaomi HyperOS 3 based on Android 16.
There are two cameras in this phone. The primary uses a 50-megapixel Light Fusion 600 sensor. It is joined by another 8-megapixel sensor with ultrawide lens. On the front, it has a 20-megapixel camera for taking selfies.
The Turbo 5 Max features a massive 9,000mAh battery which is the largest yet on any Redmi smartphone to date. Though this is not the largest overall. Realme has the P4 Power which has an even bigger 10,001mAh battery. The Max supports 100W fast charging.
The phone has an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for biometric authentication. It is IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K rated for dust and water resistance.
