Ravichandran Ashwin became only the 8th bowler and second off-spinner in the history of the Indian Premier League to complete 150 wickets during the IPL 2022 clash between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals in Pune on Tuesday.

Ashwin had taken 149 wickets to his name and needed just one more wicket to achieve the feat of 150 scalps before the RCB vs RR game. Ashwin became only the 8th bowler in the IPL history to reach the 150-mark and 6th Indian. Ashwin also joined his fellow off-spinner, Harbhajan Singh, who has exactly 150 wickets in the cash-rich league.
Ashwin has formed a spectacular spinner combination with Yuzvendra Chahal in the middle overs for Rajasthan Royals as they have been able to hold the opponents. With over 550 international wickets, Ashwin is a modern legend of Indian cricket but his true assessment as a cricketer must also take account of the fact that he is a brilliant thinker of the game.
