RCB vs PBKS: Virat Kohli slams bat in frustration, gets out after a brisk start in 14-ball 20

RCB vs PBKS, IPL 2022: Virat Kohli looked up to the night sky and shouted at himself as he got out for a 14-ball 20 in RCB's 210-run chase against PBKS in Mumbai on Friday. Kohli was dismissed as early as the 4th over after he began his innings with a few well-timed shots.

Virat Kohli looked disgruntled as he walked back after failing to convert a rare brisk start in Match 60 of IPL 2022 between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings on Friday, May 13. The RCB star was looking in good touch, hitting early boundaries in their chase of 210, but the star batter was dismissed for 20 in the 4th over of their chase.

Virat Kohli swung his bat in frustration and berated himself as he walked back to the pavilion after the on-field decision for a catch was overturned by the third umpire. Kohli was cramped for room by Kagiso Rabada as he tried to play one to the on-side but the ball brushed his gloves before bouncing off his ribs to the short fine-leg fielder.

Kohli was confident that the ball hadn't hit his gloves or the bat, but replays and the ultra-edge showed that there was a faint edge. Kohli was in some pain as the ball from the South Africa pacer had rammed into his body at pace.

As he was given out, Kohli was disappointed and frustrated. The former RCB captain looked up at the night sky and spoke to himself.

Kohli began his knock by hitting a couple of boundaries in Arshdeep Singh's first over. He hit a well-timed six against left-arm spinner Harpreet Brar to take his tally to 20 before the unfortunate dismissal in Rabada's first over.

Kohli has been finding different ways to get dismissed in IPL 2022 as his form has deserted him. The star batter has managed just 236 runs in 13 matches at an average of less than 20.

Kohli looked quite fluent and determined to make it big and help his team post a strong reply to Punjab Kings' 209/9 but his stay in the crease ended as early as the 3rd over.
