Faf du Plessis may have ended his celebrated association with Chennai Super Kings to take over the role of Royal Challengers Bangalore captain in Indian Premier League 2022, but the fans of the 4-time champions continue to shower love on the South African star.
A group of CSK fans bought tickets for RCB’s 2nd game of IPL 2022 against Kolkata Knight Riders at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai to showcase their love and admiration for du Plessis.
CSK and RCB share a well-known rivalry in the IPL but the Super Kings fans flaunted a huge banner, saying they made it to the game to watch their former opener in action, leading the Bangalore side in their new avatar.

“We are CSK fans but we are here for Faf,” the banner read, with images of Faf du Plessis in yellow and red on either side of it.
The well-wishes turned into success for du Plessis as the Proteas star won his first match as RCB captain on Wednesday when the former finalists defeated KKR by 3 wickets in a low-scoring thriller.
