RCB vs GT: Matthew Wade wild with rage after dismissal, throws his bat and helmet in dressing-room

IPL 2022, RCB vs GT: Gujarat Titans batter Matthew Wade was extremely agitated and threw his cricket gear on the floor after being given out LBW to Glenn Maxwell of Royal Challengers Bangalore.

Matthew Wade was unable to cool down even after he entered the Gujarat Titans dressing-room following what he thought was a wrong decision against him in the game versus Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Wankhede Stadium.

Matthew Wade walked in to bat at No.3 for Gujarat Titans after the early dismissal of Shubman Gill but was ruled out LBW to Glenn Maxwell. Wade was batting well, he had hit 2 fours and 1 six in his 16 before falling to his Australian teammate.

After hitting Matthew Wade on the pads, Glenn Maxwell and the rest of the RCB players appealed for an LBW which was upheld by the on-field umpire. Wade chose to review it and the ball-tracker showed the ball would have hit middle and leg and the third umpire upheld the original decision.

However, Matthew Wade was fuming as he walked off and Virat Kohli walked up to the GT batter and put an arm around his shoulders. After walking back to the dressing-room, Wade first slammed his helmet on the floor and then proceeded to throw his bat in a fit of rage.

Matthew Wade was GT's first choice as opener alongside Shubhman Gill but he was dropped after scores of 30, 1, 6, 19 and 12 before making a comeback at No.3 against Lucknow Super Giants. But he only managed 10 on his return and then got out for 20 against Chennai Super Kings.

While Matthew Wade was out of the playing XI, Wriddhiman Saha cemented his position as Gill's opening partner with some breathtaking innings at the top.

Gujarat Titans were the first team to qualify for the IPL 2022 playoffs and are assured of a top-spot finish on the points table, having secured 20 points already. Wade's poor form on his comeback might prompt the team management to look at other options for the first qualifier and beyond.
