Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is all set to visit Gujarat on a three-day tour from August 16 to 18.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot is all set to visit Gujarat on a three-day tour from August 16 to 18. This will be the first visit of Ashok Gehlot to Gujarat after being appointed as Gujarat Congress senior observer.
Ashok Gehlot was appointed as a senior observer so that the party can perform in a decent way in the upcoming Gujarat assembly elections. Other observers include TS Singh Deo and Milind Deora.
The Congress party is currently going through difficult times with several top leaders and MLAs leaving the party and joining BJP.
In a three-day visit, Ashok Gehlot will stop by different places in Gujarat and meet Congress leaders. The three-day visit of Gehlot is also being seen as a game changer by congressmen.
On August 16, Ashok Gehlot will land in Surat, where he will meet Congress leaders from South Gujarat. Later, he will reach Rajkot, where he will meet Congress leaders from Saurashtra. By evening he will reach Vadodara and will stay there.
On August 17, Ashok Gehlot, in Vadodara, will meet Congress leaders from central Gujarat. Later he will reach Ahmedabad and here he will meet Congress leaders from North Gujarat, mainly Mehsana. He will stay in Ahmedabad at night.
On August 18, Ashok Gehlot will address a press conference in the morning. Later, he will meet Congress leaders and discuss the manifesto and by evening he will leave for Jaipur. In all places, Ashok Gehlot will be going by special plane.

A prominent seer, Pranavananda Swamiji, alleged that mutts backing Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar to take over the top post were denied any allocation in the state budget presented by Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. He reiterated his support for Shivakumar to take over as the chief minister.
