QNADohaQatar and Uruguay signed a slew deals as His Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay Dr Luis Lacalle Pou held official talks at the Amiri Diwan on Monday.During the talks, they discussed bilateral relations and the ways of enhancing and developing them, especially in the diplomatic, educational, and sports fields. They also reviewed issues of mutual interest.HH the Amir and the President of Uruguay witnessed the signing of an agreement and several memoranda of understanding (MoU) between the two countries.Both sides witnessed the signing of an MoU on cooperation in the youth and sports fields, an MoU for cooperation in the education field, and an agreement on a mutual exemption from entry visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, private, official, regular and mission passports, as well as an MoU for cooperation in the field of diplomatic training between the Diplomatic Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Artigas Foreign Service Institute of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay.Later, HH the Amir hosted a luncheon banquet in honour of the President of the Oriental Republic of Uruguay and the accompanying delegation.Earlier upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan, the president was accorded an official reception.
