QNALjubljanaHis Highness the Amir of State of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor held official talks at the presidential palace in the Slovenian capital Ljubljana on Monday.The talks dealt with discussing bilateral cooperation and ways to develop them in various political, investment, economic, cultural and tourism fields. The meeting also exchanged views on a number of regional and international issues of joint interest. HH the Amir and the Slovenian president held a meeting prior to the talks session, during which they reviewed the prospects for Qatari-Slovenian cooperation and ways to enhance it, in addition to discussing a number of issues of joint interest.HH the Amir and the Slovenian president then witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between Qatar Holding and Spirit Agency to encourage entrepreneurship, foreign investments and technology in Slovenia.In a joint press statement with the Slovenian president at the presidential palace, HH the Amir affirmed that talks with President of the Republic of Slovenia Borut Pahor were constructive and would contribute to the development of bilateral relations at various levels, especially in the fields of politics, economy, commerce, energy, infrastructure, and tourism.HH the Amir said the two sides discussed the latest regional and international developments, particularly those in Europe and the Middle East.HH the Amir concluded his statements by expressing his thanks and appreciation to the Slovenian president for the warm welcome and hospitality, highlighting his happiness over his first visit to the Republic of Slovenia.For his part, the Slovenian president welcomed HH the Amir, expressing his happiness at receiving His Highness and the accompanying delegation, and added that he looks forward to the positive outcomes of the visit. The Slovenian president expressed his hope that bilateral ties between the two countries will strengthen in all fields. The president also praised the development of bilateral relations and cooperation in various aspects. He also reviewed the Slovenian-Qatari partnership in various fields and said he looks forward to developing them to broader horizons, especially with the promising investment opportunities for the two countries and cooperation in the field of energy.
