The opening ceremony was held in the presence of His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Jassim Al Thani, Minister of State and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Qatar Charity; His Excellency Sheikh Abdullah bin Thamer Al Thani, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Morocco; Mohamed Dardouri, Governor, National Coordinator of the National Initiative for Human Development in the Kingdom of Morocco; and a number of representatives of Moroccan governmental sectors, and United Nations organisation representatives accredited in Morocco. During the opening ceremony, two separate partnership agreements were signed between Qatar Charity, the National Initiative for Human Development, and the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children.Historical momentIn his speech on the occasion Youssef bin Ahmed Al Kuwari said: âWe consider the opening of Qatar Charity office in the Kingdom of Morocco an important historical moment, as this event represents an opportunity to strengthen the solid brotherly ties between the Qatari and Moroccan peoples and to contribute to strengthening the relationship between the two countries.He expressed thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to facilitating the registration of the Qatar Charity branch in Morocco, including the ministries of foreign affairs and interior, which spared no effort in making it possible.He hoped that Qatar Charity in Morocco would become one of the leading foreign non-governmental organisations in the field of development and humanitarian aid, emphasising that Qatar Charity will make development a top priority so that it can contribute to empowering the needy with basic services transparently and without any discrimination.Distinguished eventFor his part, Mohamed Dardori, the National Coordinator of the National Initiative for Human Development in the Kingdom of Morocco, described the opening of Qatar Charity office in Morocco as a âdistinguished eventâ and said that it âcomes in the context of the strong brotherly relationship and constructive cooperation that unites the Kingdom and the State of Qatar, under their wise leadership.âHe praised the qualitative contributions and distinguished projects of Qatar Charity in the world. He added that the signing of partnership agreements between the National Initiative for Human Development and Qatar Charity would contribute to unifying efforts and cooperation to achieve common goals and exchange expertise and experiencesAbdelilah Fonter Benbrahim, Legal Adviser to the Moroccan League for the Protection of Children, highlighted in his speech on behalf of Her Highness Princess Lalla Zeinab, President of the Moroccan League for Child Protection, that the partnership with Qatar Charity expresses a strong will to advance the difficult situation of children deprived of the family.
