
Puducherry’s final electoral roll out; UT has over 9.44 lakh voters

Puducherry's final electoral roll reveals 9.44 lakh voters after adding 42,719 eligible electors through the Special Intensive Revision.
The final electoral roll of the Union Territory published on Saturday after the statutory period for filing of claims and objections as part of the Special Intensive Revision showed that the territory has an electorate of 9,44,211.
Chief Electoral Officer P. Jawahar said as per the draft roll published on December 16, 2025, the territory had an electorate of 9,18,111. Out of the 10, 21, 578 electors enrolled in the draft roll as on October 27, 2025, a total of 1,03,467 ineligible electors were removed in the draft roll.
Subsequently, the statutory period for filing claims and objections was conducted from December 16, 2025 to January 19, 2026 during which 42,719 eligible electors were added and 16, 619 ineligible electors were deleted. Accordingly, the final electorate of UT as on February 14 has been arrived at 9, 44, 211, a press release said.
Of the total electors, 5,00, 477 are women, 4, 43, 595 are male and 139 are third gender. The region wise details of electors: Puducherry- 7, 21, 296, Karaikal - 1, 55, 515, Yanam- 37, 664 and Mahe- 29, 736. The final electoral roll has been displayed at polling stations. Further, the final roll will be available for public inspection at the Voter Facilitation Centres in the offices of the Electoral Registration Officers for seven days, excluding holidays, the release said.
First-time electors in the age group of 18-19 years and existing electors who have shifted to Puducherry and applied for corrections will be issued EPICs through BLOs to their residential address. Those who have completed 18 years as on January 1 and failed to apply for inclusion could apply online (https://voters.eci.gov.in) or through BLOs during the continuous updation process.
Electors are requested to verify their names in the Electoral Roll and if required submit applications for inclusion (Form 6), correction (Form-8) or deletion (Form-7) through online or offline modes. For any election related clarification, public could dial 1950, the release said.
