Prohibitory orders imposed around counting centres in Malkajgiri and Cyberabad

Prohibitory orders to be enforced around counting centres in Malkajgiri and Cyberabad to ensure public order during Telangana Municipal polls vote counting

The Malkajgiri and Cyberabad police commissionerates have imposed prohibitory orders around counting centres in their respective jurisdictions in view of the counting of votes — polled in Telangana Municipal polls-2026 — scheduled on Friday (February 13, 2026).

In Malkajgiri commissionerate, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP), C.H. Sridhar, issued a notification prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons within a 500-metre radius of the counting centre at TGMRSJC, Jaganguda, under Shamirpet police station limits in Muduchintalapally Municipality. The restrictions will remain in force from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m. on February 13.

Meanwhile, in Cyberabad commissionerate, Serilingampally DCP, Ch. Srinivas, .issued a separate notification prohibiting the assembly of five or more persons within a 500-metre radius of three counting centres from 5 a.m. on February 13 until 6 a.m. on February 14.

The centres covered under the Cyberabad Police order include the Tribal Welfare Degree College for Men at Peddakanjerla village under Indresham Municipality within Patancheru police station limits, Zilla Parishad High School (ZPHS) at Isnapur village under Isnapur Municipality within Patancheru police station limits, and ZPHS at Gaddapotharam village under Gaddapotharam Municipality within IDA Bollaram police station limits.

Separately, Quthbullapur zone incharge DCP, T. Sai Manohar, too issued prohibitory orders around two municipal counting centres in his jurisdiction. The restrictions will be in force from 6 a.m .to 11 p.m. on February 13 within a 500-metre radius of the identified centres. These include Bharath Bible College at Dabilpur village under Yellampet Municipality within Medchal police station limits, and Sri T. Chaitanya School at Majeedpur under Aliyabad municipality within Genome Valley police station limits.

The order was issued to maintain public order and peace and to prevent obstruction, annoyance or injury to persons lawfully engaged in duty, as well as to avoid any disturbance of public tranquillity. Both the Commissionerates have warned that any person found violating the prohibitory orders will be liable for prosecution under the relevant provisions of law.
