The Tamil Nadu School Education Department has conducted an inquiry with school authorities, including the headmaster, of a Panchayat Union Middle School in Chandrayanpalli village, which comes under the Madhanur panchayat union near Ambur town in Tirupattur, for purportedly allowing a history-sheeter to participate in the school’s annual day function last Saturday (March 22, 2025).
Tirupattur District Educational Officer (Elementary) R. Malaivasan told The Hindu that based on complaints from educationists and social activists, an inquiry was conducted with the school authorities on Monday (March 24, 2025) for permitting the history-sheeter to give away prizes to students and perform film songs at the school event. “The headmaster is solely responsible for any incidents that happen within the campus. The report has been submitted to the Department of School Education. Departmental action will be taken against the headmaster,” he said.
The initial inquiry revealed that the school organised its annual day function on the playground within the campus on March 22. The school authorities, led by headmaster K. Chandrasekar, had called G. Sunita, president, Chandrayanpalli village panchayat, as a special invitee to the function.
Despite not being formally invited by the school, her husband K. Ganesh, 42, a history-sheeter, attended the event. He also sang a few movie songs and distributed prizes to students during the event. A video of the event went viral on social media platforms.
The police said that Ganesh has several criminal cases against him, including extortion, robbery, and theft in Tamil Nadu and Andhra Pradesh. He came out of jail on conditional bail a few months ago.
