Pooja Vastrakar impresses in women’s warm-up match but India go down by 36 runs vs Australia in Brisbane

Pooja Vastrakar and Deepti Sharma tried their level best to chase down the target but India still ended up 36 runs short against Australia in their 50-over warm-up game in Brisbane on Saturday.

The Indian women’s cricket team started their Australian tour on Saturday with a disappointing 36-run defeat in a 50-over warm-up game in Brisbane, before they play the more serious games from September 21.

Chasing a challenging 279 for victory, India fell short by a long margin and ended up with a paltry 242 for 7 in 50 overs despite a valiant 57 lower down the order by Pooja Vastrakar at No.6 while Deepti Sharma and Yastika Bhatia made 49 not out and 41 respectively.
