Police officer delivers premature baby after thinking he's responding to overdose emergency
Fox News
Officer Connor Doyle, 27, of the Woonsocket Police Department in Woonsocket, Rhode Island, helped deliver a baby girl who was born roughly 25 weeks premature.
"They weren't exactly sure what they were dispatched to."
Doyle said that on March 25, police received a call from a woman who asked officers to check on her family member who had a history of drug use. The caller, Doyle said, was fearful that her loved one may have overdosed.
When he arrived at the scene, Doyle found evidence of narcotics use inside the apartment. The woman was also 90% of the way delivering a baby.
