York Regional Police are investigating after an early morning shooting between two vehicles on Sunday.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting around 7 a.m. in King Township Sunday around the area of 15th Sideroad and Dufferin Street, said York police on social media.
A suspect fled on foot and road closures are in place while police investigate, they said.
Police said a K9 unit has been deployed to aid in the search. They said officers are looking through a residential area near Keele Street, south of 15th Sideroad.
Residents are being advised to expect a large police presence in the area.
Police urge people to avoid the area while the investigation is underway.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
