
Police ID victim in Liberty Village stabbing

Toronto police identified the victim of a stabbing in Liberty Village on Friday night.
Marcel Cardiff died in hospital, acting Det. Sgt. Munish Dhoum said at a news conference on Saturday. Dhoum said the victim was in his early 30s.
Officers responded to reports of a stabbing just before 8 p.m. Friday at Joe Shuster Way and King Street W., police said on X, formerly known as Twitter.
The victim was taken to St. Michael’s Hospital where he was pronounced dead, Dhoum said.
Police say they are looking for surveillance video and witnesses.
The suspect is about five foot eleven and wearing black clothing, Dhoum said.
