
Police continue to investigate deaths of 2 women hit while walking in Chatham-Kent

A post-mortem exam is scheduled in the case of two pedestrians hit and killed in Chatham-Kent over the weekend.
Chatham-Kent police say two women — one 66, one 68 — were walking on Charing Cross Road Saturday evening when a vehicle hit them near Horton Line.
Emergency workers responded at 7:11 p.m. They tried life-saving measures, police say, but the women died.

Sarnia City Council will hold a special meeting Tuesday morning to respond to social media comments made by Coun. Bill Dennis, who criticized city spending on a new mural by Indigenous artist Kennady Osborne as “virtue signalling by woke politicians” — then made a series of comments in response to a reply from Aamjiwnaang Chief Janelle Nahmabin that some have characterized as unprofessional and aggressive.
