Hyderabad police arrest a repeat offender linked to multiple burglaries, caught while planning another theft near Secunderabad Railway Station.
A 37-year-old man involved in at least six house burglary cases in Hyderabad was arrested by the Narayanguda police near Secunderabad Railway Station when he arrived in the city to commit another offence.
The accused, identified as Hafijul Sekh, a saree designer from Kolkata, West Bengal, was involved in multiple property offences across Delhi, Kolkata and Telangana, and had previously served jail time.
Police said the accused carried out two house burglaries on March 30 in Narayanguda and Himayathnagar, targeting locked houses and breaking open locks to steal gold ornaments and cash worth around ₹2 lakh from two houses.
Investigations revealed that he followed a pattern of identifying locked houses during the day and committing theft and is linked with six cases in Narayanguda, Kukatpally and Sanathnagar police stations in 2026 alone.
The accused was apprehended on April 6 using CCTV footage analysis and technical surveillance. Police said further investigation is underway.
