Manav Kaul's latest production, Tumhare Baare Mein, is part of the IHC Theatre Festival. It is a potent, poetic take on modern-day relationships where men want to be penguins and women dream of becoming a bird who can fly. The festival features 12 plays, a book discussion, a 35mm screening of a film on Indian theatre, workshops, and interactions. Manav says Delhi has a “taste for theatre” and is anxious to get the response from the Capital’s audience. S. Rajani, a homemaker, visits a tribal settlement to provide meals to less privileged children. Her daughter's death anniversary marks the day, reminding her of the painful end caused by rabies, a zoonotic disease. Kerala is increasingly susceptible to such diseases, with leptospirosis, scrub typhus, and Nipah claiming lives. Climate change, migrations, and pet trade are contributing to the spread. Disease surveillance efforts, check-posts, and research are needed to prevent the spread. Rajani awaits compensation for her daughter's death, but the lack of funds has hamstrung the committee. No money can compensate for the loss, leaving her family to rebuild their lives.

The Congress government tabled a ‘white paper’ on the State finances in the State Assembly during the ongoing monsoon session. The paper held the BJP-led Central Government equally responsible for the State’s economic mess and added that the State has landed into a poor fiscal position due to shortsightedness and ineffective policies of the previous government during the last five years.
