PM Modi-led panel decides on three names for CBI chief

Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led panel has selected three names for the post of CBI chief. The high-level panel met on Monday to selected the names.
The high-powered committee led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi selected three names as the candidates for new chief of Central Bureau of Investigation, sources said. On Monday, along with PM Modi, Chief Justice of India Justice NV Ramana and Leader of Opposition Adhir Ranjan Chowdhary met to select the next CBI director. Sources say, over 100 officers from 1984, 1985, 1986 and 1987 batch were under consideration, however, during the 90-minute meeting, Subodh Jaiswal, KR Chandra and VKS Kaumudi were selected as candidates for next CBI chief. The government can now appoint any officer out of these three as next CBI Director.More Related News
