The district administration of Anand carried out a demolition drive and pulled down illegal business establishments of those accused of rioting.
The police have filed two FIRs - one against members of the Muslim community and the other against members of the committee that took out the procession along with a mob of 1,000 persons. The petitioners, who have approached the High Court through advocate Anand Yagnik, have claimed that the police have so far not arrested a single accused despite their names being mentioned in the FIR.
