The Congress government filled more than 55,000 jobs in a short span of one year and announced a job calendar to ensure a time-bound and transparent recruitment process, he added, calling upon graduates to cast their votes for the Congress candidate V. Speaking to the media in Karimnagar on Sunday, Mr. Sridhar Babu said the establishment of Young India Skills University in Hyderabad, skilling programmes across multiple sectors including Banking Financial Services and Insurance (BFSI) sector stands as a testament to the Congress government’s resolve to boost employment through skill upgradation.
Plans are afoot to set up sub-centres under the aegis of the Skills University one each in all 33 districts of the State and upgrade all 63 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) as part of the skilling initiatives, he said.
He added that plans are also in the offing to offer internship programmes in a collaborative mode to provide industry exposure to the students of various courses across several sectors to bridge the skill gap between academia and industry and create skill talent pool.
He said the Congress government has been relentlessly striving for accelerated development of the State and all-inclusive welfare with a thrust on the empowerment of women, youth, weaker sections, including BCs, despite financial constraints as a fallout of the previous BRS government’s misrule.
