Piyush Goyal sets exports target for textile industry at $100 bn, up from $33 bn

Union Textile Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the industry to increase the textile export value from $33 billion to $100 billion.

Setting the target for the textile industry and asking exporters to boost exports, Union Textile Minister Piyush Goyal has asked the industry to set an aim to increase textiles exports three times from present export value of $33 billion to $100 billion of textiles exports. While the minister assured exporters that the textile ministry was working closely with the finance ministry to resolve the issue of old dues on incentives for exporters, Piyush Goyal pointed out that industries that didn't depend on subsidies thrive.
