On Sunday, January 16, 2022, the prices of petrol and diesel have remained stable across the major Indian cities. The oil marketing companies (OMCs) have kept the prices of petrol and diesel stable since November 3, 2021. The fuel rates have remained unchanged after the Central government announced the excise duty cut on petrol and diesel by Rs 5 and Rs 10, respectively.
Prior to this, the fuel rates had touched an all-time record high across the country and customers had to shell out more than Rs 100 for a litre of petrol in most Indian cities.
As of 10:26 am on MCX, gold futures were trading at Rs 1,37,307, down Rs 7,185 or 4.97%. Silver futures were at Rs 2,13,600, down Rs 13,172 or 5.81%.
