The UK Antarctic Heritage Trust is seeking five people to staff remote Port Lockroy for the upcoming season, which begins in November 2024 and goes until March 2025.
Those hired will need to provide updates on the state of the Gentoo penguin population on the island. Christine Rousselle is a lifestyle reporter with Fox News Digital.
"From counting penguins to sorting mail at the world’s southernmost post office, working at Port Lockroy in Antarctica is a job like no other," said the UK Antarctic Heritage Trust (UKAHT) in a Feb. 26 post on the organization's Instagram page.
