Pawan Kalyan bats for united Opposition in Andhra Pradesh against ruling govt

Pawan Kalyan, actor turned politician and president of the Janasena party in Andhra, hit out against the ruling government, saying if the votes against the ruling government got divided, the YSRCP would come to power again and Andhra would be pushed into darkness.

Actor-turned-politician and Janasena Party President, Pawan Kalyan, on Sunday, batted for an alternative rule in Andhra Pradesh to free people from the chaotic rule of the Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

“The state will go into the dark if the anti-YSRCP votes get split. An alternative ruling is the need of the hour for the future of Andhra Pradesh. The votes against the ruling government vote should not be split to protect the state and alliances must be useful for people not for individual gains,” said Pawan Kalyan.

Pawan Kalyan, popularly called Power Star by his fans and supporters, spoke out against the ruling party in Andhra Pradesh (YSRCP) at the party formation day meeting in Nandyal.

The actor turned politician emphasised that, “If the anti-YSRCP vote gets split between parties, they will come to power again. As a result, Andhra Pradesh will be pushed into darkness.”

Pawan Kalayan is a part of the BJP-led NDA, and in 2014, the party, along with the BJP, contested the elections together with the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and formed the government in Andhra Pradesh. However, before the 2019 polls, the then Chief Minister and TDP chief, Chandrababu Naidu, walked out of the alliance.

Without naming the TDP, Pawan Kalyan said, “BJP and Janasena contested jointly in the 2014 elections. In my view, the alliance must be useful for people. I won’t allow the split of anti-YSRCP votes.”
