Former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh has been granted protection from arrest in Thane case, provided he withdraws his statement from Supreme Court regarding the alleged non-hearing of the case by Bombay HC.
The Maharashtra government on Monday agreed to not arrest former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh in a case registered against him in Thane, provided he drops the petition filed in the matter in the Supreme Court. Advocate Darius Khambata, appearing for the Maharashtra government, on Monday told the Bombay High Court that Param Bir Singh had approached the Supreme Court where he alleged that the Bombay HC was hearing him. This was vehemently denied by Advocate Mahesh Jethmalani, appearing for Singh. Although he remarked that he was not appearing for Singh before the SC, so was not aware about the petition there.More Related News
