The Pakistan Airports Authority has announced the partial closure of its airspace for commercial flights until the end of March, amid widescale regional air disruptions due to the conflict in the Middle East.
Al Jazeera says more than 150 international flights between Pakistani cities and Middle Eastern destinations have been cancelled.
In a statement, the authority said that selected route segments in the Karachi and Lahore flight information regions would be unavailable daily from 9am to 3pm (04:00 to 10:000 GMT) from Tuesday until March 31 “due operational reasons”.
