Tehran: Iran announced at dawn Sunday the killing of Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of Iran, in the aftermath of Israeli and American airstrikes on various Iranian regions.
The Iranian News Agency (IRNA) reported today that Khamenei was killed in an attack launched by the Israeli military and the United States on Saturday morning, without providing additional details regarding the circumstances of his death.
For its part, the Iranian government declared 40 days of national mourning and seven days of official holiday following the formal announcement of the Supreme Leader's death.
Earlier yesterday, Iranian media outlets reported the killing of the Supreme Leader's daughter, his son-in-law, and his granddaughter in the Israeli and American strikes.
